Take a 40-minute ride from the pier on an open air bus to our base camp in the outskirts of Miramar, a small village in Manzanillo. On the way, you'll see the port, the largest in Mexico, and the new, ongoing construction to make it even larger.

After the port, look to your right, and you'll see the Valle de Las Garzas lagoon, teeming with waterbirds, including the roseate spoonbill, cormorants, snowy egrets, ducks, pelicans and herons.

At the base camp, get an orientation by the guides, you'll mount your trusty steed, and be off, ready to discover some wonderful trails full of tropical flora and fauna.

You will go around the Miramar lagoon and view birds and crocodiles living in their natural habitat.

The ride will continue on to Miramar Beach , where you can feel and see the pounding surf of the Pacific.

As you ride along this long, golden and black volcanic sand beach, take in the breathtaking view of the entire 5-mile-log Santiago Bay.

At the end of the trail we stop at thatched roof restaurant on the beach so you can spend two hours swimming and enjoying a delicious, fresh seafood lunch (at your expense). There are also vendor's stalls nearby, so you can shop to your heart's content at the flea market.

Make sure you bring a towel , sunglasses, a camera, sun screen and a hat.

Duration: The horseback ride is 2 hrs.; the total time for this tour  is 5½ hrs.

Price $45. Transportation is not included, but you will be met at the cruise ship dock by our representative, and escorted to a taxi to get you to the ranch. Taxi cost is $15. After lunch, your English-speaking restaurant host will secure you a taxi back to the ship.
